Style guide and best practices for creating Libguides

What is this Guide for?

Top Box: At the top of each page, helps users by immediately identifying purpose of the guide or the page. Simply state the purpose or provide clarity and any  important information in the "top box" (use Header settings for these)

Boxes

  • Select "Add Box"
    undefined
  • Fill in Box Name
  • Select box type (see examples below)
  • If you check the "Floating" box, it will appear that way in the front facing page but not in the creation of the guide.

For more details, follow these directions from Springshare.

Box Types - Tabbed

Refrain from using too many tabs in this example and keep tab names short.

Too many tabs makes the guide look cluttered.

Even though it's cool, use this type of box with caution.

Box Type - Gallery (use with images or books)

Best Practices!

As you create it, preview your guide frequently!

(select the "eye" icon on the upper right where the publishing status is) undefined

This will give you good feedback as to how it will look and show any obvious mistakes
