First year learning experiences of Univeristy undergraduates in use ofr Open Educational Resources in online learning
The results clearly shown that understanding of online learners’ skills, acceptability, perception, and competencies is necessary to provide intervention strategy and appropriate support service which could facilitate their understanding and learning of difficult concepts. It was also discovered that that students that have positive perception of OER performed very well in the achievement test administered.
The Impact of Enrollment in an OER course on student learning outcomes
This study analyzed the effect enrollment in an OER course had on student academic achievement. The Impact of OER on Teaching and Learning Practice
The OER Research Hub has been investigating the impact of OER and explores the findings relating to teaching and learning. The findings reveal a set of direct impacts including an increase in factors relating to student performance and indirect impacts, such as wide scale reporting of adaptation, and the increase in sharing and open practice that results from OER usage. Maintaining momentum toward graduation: OER and the course throughtput rate.
The study found that students who use OER perform significantly better on the course throughput rate than their peers who use traditional textbooks, in both face-to-face and online courses that use OER.
