Accessing the Wall Street Journal

ProQuest Direct provides access to the Wall Street Journal using the following steps

  • Go to ProQuest
  • Look for Publications at the top of the page and click on Publications
  • Enter Wall Street Journal in the search box
  • Click on Wall Street Journal, Eastern edition
  • Use Search within this publication to enter your search terms
  • The Wall Street Journal has been designated so all retrieved articles will come from it
  • Use Browse Specific Issues to limit your results to particular years

OR:

  • Go to ProQuest
  • Enter Wall Street Journal in the first search box
  • In the box to the right, click on the arrow and select Publication title: PUB
  • Enter your search term(s) in the following search boxes (remember to use quotation marks for phrases)
  • Use Search Options to limit to a particular date, company, etc.

Your instructor may ask you to post an article you have found.  Follow the directions below:

  • Find an article you like
  • Click on the title from the results list
  • Click on Full Text or Citation/Abstract
  • Find Document URL, bottom of the page
  • Copy the URL - you can paste into a document, on Moodle, etc.

Other features of ProQuest

  • Narrow results by: allows you to limit by date- narrowing down to a specific day (keep clicking!)
  • ProQuest results are in order by Revelance - what matches your search terms best. 
  • You can change from Revelance to Publication Date (most recent first)
