The following list provides excellent sources for finding career information. 

Government agencies are a reliable source for career information and are recommended.

  • WOIS/cis360 - The Career Information Center - SVC Libraries pay for access to WOIS - so you will need to use the link from the Library homepage.  WOIS is a non-profit organization that researches and distributes information on Washington careers, schools and training programs.  Follow the directions to log-in.
  • O*Net - learn about occupations and data collected by the O*Net Project.  The O*Net Resource Center was created by the U.S. Dept. of Labor
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) also comes from the U.S. Dept. of Labor.  Updated annually it lists hundreds of jobs with: training & education requirements, earnings, job prospects, and working conditions.  Links to more information is also provided.
  • WorkSource is a statewide partnership of state, local and nonprofit agencies that provide an array of employment and training services to job seekers and employers in Washington State.
