What is it?

The American Anthropological (AAA) Documentation Style is a close cousin of the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS). The AAA Style Manual, an online publication, offers anthropological writers and scholars guidelines on AAA variations from CMS style.

AAA Formating

  • Text should be 12 pt.
  • Margins should be 1" to 1.5" 
  • Double spaced;  except for block quotations, table titles, and figure captions
  • Attach a separate title page including:  the title of the paper, name and class information
  • Page numbers begin with a header on the first page and use 1
  • Begin the text of the paper on separate paper headed with the title of the paper
