Article Databases

Academic Search Complete

ProQuest

(Click on the either database to use) are databases of articles from journals, magazines and newsapers.  They go back to the early 1980's and have over 7,000 different magazines and journals and newspapers. Most of what you find can be read on the computer (full text articles).  When searching you will find:

  • 3 different search boxes so you can add terms or take terms away
  • You can limit to full text articles
  • When you see an article that looks good, click on the article title.
  • Read the article abstract to see if it meets your needs
  • You can e-mail the article
  • You can get help with citing (your instructors will ask you to use MLA, APA or other citation styles and the databases help you cite each article in the style needed)
  • You can make a list of the articles you like by adding them to a folder.
  • If you use a database from home you will need to provide your SVC logon and Password
