SVC can loan you a laptop and/or hotspot for the quarter while supplies last. To reserve one, please use the library's Checkout Scheduler.
SVC has compiled a list of Internet service providers and the opportunities for free/reduced cost Internet on the Remote Operations page including Comcast, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. Here are a few additional sources:
A non-profit that connects eligible households to Interenet, computers, and digital skills trainings. Search by zip code.
New customers receive 2 free months of low-cost Internet if you apply by April 30 - even if you owe Comcast money.
Xfinity WiFi hot spots are freely available for all, even if you're not an Xfinity customer.
AT&T offers free access ot their WiFi hotspots, even if you aren't a customer.
Households with students or teachers can get 60 days of free Internet. Enroll over the phone.

While all SVC Campuses are closed, you can still park in the parking lots with your laptop and use the WiFi. Below is a map of where the signal is strongest on the Mount Vernon campus. Go to this site for WiFi maps of every parking lot on campus.

To renew your checked-out library materials at the end of the quarter, make sure you are registered for the following quarter and contact us at library.circulation@skagit.edu.
Mount Vernon: To return materials that you have checked out, the Mount Vernon Campus Library has a book drop available behind the library, along the sidewalk.
Whidbey Island Campus: The drop box is located in the walkway between Hayes Hall and Oak Hall. The lower level parking lot provides easy access to drop off library material.
Overdue fines will be excused while the library remains in remote operations.
