Because the library buildings will be closed, we will provide only quarter-long checkouts of classroom materials.
For information, steps, and tutorials related to incorporating library resources and freely-licensed open educational resources (OER) into your course, see the Library Module of the Online Excellence Canvas course.
**NOTE: These modules replace the library's SKILL Tutorial, which is no longer available.**
During remote operations, the library has licensing agreements with Swank Digital Campus and Kanopy for streaming video. Please contact a librarian if you would like to order a title from these services.
SVC Librarians are available to consult with you about transitioning your course materials to an online format. We are proficient in copyright law, fair use, open licensing, and mapping materials to course outcomes.
Many vendors of subscription materials are making content free during the pandemic. Search the various journal, textbook, and video repositories for course materials. Note these materials may not remain free once the health crisis eases, but the libraries will do what we can to work with you to sustain access. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Open educational resources (OER) are always free! If you're working to transition or rebuilt your class online and you want to use materials that you can keep forever, search for OER, which are openly licensed. Your librarians can assist with understanding, finding, using, and modifying OER.
