Evaluating Web Sites: Home

We all use the Internet but how confident are we about what we find there. Use this guide to help find the best web sites and learn how to find out which sites might not be for you.

Information

Determining whether a web site is 'okay' can be difficult.  This guide is intended to help develop the skills needed.  When you need help contact the librarians at SVC :

Mount Vernon: Norwood Cole Library

360.416.7847 or e-mail mv.library@skagit.edu

Oak Harbor: Whidbey Campus Library

360.675.5321 or e-mail mv.library@skagit.edu

When the SVC librarians are unavailable, you can get assistance from the ASK A LIBRARIAN button on the library web page [http://library.skagit.edu ] Just follow the directions and a librarian from somewhere in the world will answer your question.  They will be able to see what databases SVC uses and guide you to the best source of information.  Give your e-mail address and the SVC librarians will see a copy of the transaction and follow up if necessary.
